GPR43 is classified as a Carboxylic Acid GPCR. The location of this receptor in the immune system is suggestive of potential roles in immune cell function and hematopoiesis. GPR43 has been reported primarily in immune cells including monocytes and neutrophils. An EST has been isolated from a human pancreatic library.
