A synthetic peptide from human autophagy protein 5 (ATG5, ASP, APG5, APG5L, hAPG5) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein has been used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in mouse, xenopus and chicken.
Use at a concentration of 10-50 µg/ml. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.

Hintergrund
ATG5 is an important element forautophagy and may also play an important role in the apoptotic process. Following conjugation to ATG12, the conjugate participates in the formation of autophagosome. While the mRNA is ubiquitously transcribed its expression is highly upregulated in apoptotic cells. Also known as: APG5-like, ATG5, ASP, APG5, APG5L, hAPG5, apoptosis-specific protein.
