Hintergrund: VAMP5 (Vesicle-Associated Membrane Protein 5) may participate in trafficking events that are associated with myogenesis, such as myoblast fusion and/or GLUT4 trafficking. VAMP5 is a Type IV membrane protein and it is associated with the plasma membrane as well as intracellular perinuclear and peripheral vesicular structures of myotubes and is also associated with the trans-Golgi, but not with the cis-Golgi apparatus.
