    Hintergrund
Background: AKAP12/Gravin is a tumor suppressor protein belonging to the A-kinase anchoring protein family. A-kinase anchoring proteins function as molecular scaffolds for the subcellular compartmentalization of A- kinase signaling molecules. In addition to its role in cell signaling, AKAP12/Gravin has also been identified as an autoantigen in some cases of myasthenia gravis and has recently been shown to play a role in leukemogenesis.
