- Hintergrund
- Background: ZHX3 (zinc-fingers and homeoboxes 3) was identified as a factor that heterodimerizes with the transcriptional repressor, ZHX1. ZHX3 has also been found to partner with ZHX2 and itself, as a dimer, to play a role in transcriptional repression. Recently, studies in a rat model for proteinuria have revealed an important role for ZHX3 in glomerular disease development and the regulation of gene expression in glomerular podocytes.
