- Hintergrund
- Background: HMGN3 was originally identified in a screen for interaction partners of the thyroid hormone receptor. HMGN3 belongs to the HMGN family of small basic proteins that interacts specifically with nucleosomes and functions to facilitate chromatin unfolding to allow access of transcription factors to DNA targets. HMGN has been found to be a regulator of the glycine transporter 1 (GLYT1) gene.
