Hintergrund
Pab1p is a protein which binds poly-A tails of yeast mRNA molecules, and is known as polyadenylate binding protein. It is also referred to as PAB1, ACBP, CST11 and MRNPand the systematic name is YER165w. It is they only yeast poly-A binding protein, and is found in both the cytoplasm and nucleus of yeast cells. The protein has a molecular weight of 64 kDa, and runs on typical SDS-PAGE gels at 67 kDa.
