Recombinant Human Myelin Protein P0/MPZ is produced by our mammalian expression system in human cells. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Ile30-Arg153) of Human MPZ fused with a 6His tag at the C-terminus.
Reinheit
> 95 % as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.
Sterilität
0.2 μm filtered
Endotoxin-Niveau
Less than 0.1 ng/μg (1 IEU/μg) as determined by LAL test
It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in ddH2O. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Buffer
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of 20 mM PB,150 mM NaCl, pH 7.2.

Informationen zur Lagerung
Lyophilized protein should be stored at < -20°C, though stable at room temperature for 3 weeks. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-7°C for 2-7 days. Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at < -20°C for 3 months.

Hintergrund
Myelin Protein P0 (MPZ) is a single-pass type I membrane glycoprotein which belongs to the myelin P0 protein family. MPZ contains one Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain, absent in the central nervous system. MPZ is a major component of the myelin sheath in peripheral nerves. It is postulated that MPZ is a structural element in the formation and stabilisation of peripheral nerve myelin, holding its characteristic coil structure together by the interaction of its positively-charged domain with acidic lipids in the cytoplasmic face of the opposed bilayer, and by interaction between hydrophobic globular of adjacent extracellular domains. Defects in MPZ associated with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and Dejerine-Sottas disease. Alternative Names: Myelin Protein P0, Myelin Peripheral Protein, MPP, Myelin Protein Zero, MPZ
