KRAS is a member of the small GTPase superfamily. This protein is implicated in various malignancies, including lung adenocarcinoma, mucinous adenoma, ductal carcinoma of the pancreas and colorectal carcinoma. Under normal conditions, Ras family members influence cell growth and differentiation events in a subcellular membrane compartmentalization-based signaling system. Oncogenic Ras can deregulate processes that control both cell proliferation and apoptosis. Recombinant human KRAS protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
