Annexin A5, also known as Annexin V, belongs to the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins some of which have been implicated in membrane-related events along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways. Annexin A5 is a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel activity and a potential role in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth and differentiation. This protein is an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade. Recombinant Annexin A5 protein was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Alternative Names: Annexin A5, Annexin V protein, Annexin A-5 protein, ANX5 protein, ANX A5 protein, Calphobindin I protein, Annexin A-5, Lipocortin V protein, Annexin 5 protein, Annexin A 5 protein, ENX2 protein, Anchorin CII protein, PAP I protein, PP4 protein, Annexin A 5, Placental anticoagulant protein I., Annexin A5 protein, Endonexin II protein
