Stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 °C. Upon reconstitution SCF protein should be stored at 4 °C for short term use. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1 % HSA or BSA) and store below -18 °C.
Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is a hematopoietic growth factor that exerts its activity by signaling through the c-Kit receptor. SCF and c-Kit are essential for the survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic cells committed to the melanocyte and germ cell lineages. Human SCF manifests low activity on Mouse cells, while Mouse and rat SCF are fully active on human cells. Alternative Names: Steel Factor protein, MGF protein, c-Kit Ligand protein, Mast Cell Growth Factor protein, Stem Cell Factor protein
