Buffer
Supplied in a proprietary buffer formulation, pH 8.0, sterile filtered through a 0.2 µm membrane. Dispensed on the basis of HbA1c, not total hemoglobin.
Glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA1c) levels are used as an indicator of blood glucose in diabetic patients. It is formed by the conjugation of a hexose sugar to the beta-chain of haemoglobin A. HbA1C builds up in red blood cells throughout their lifetime and its levels therefore represent a record of blood glucose levels over the previous 8 weeks or so. The subunit has mol wt of 18 kDa. Description: Human erethrocytes. Alternative Names: HbA1c protein
