Vorsichtsmaßnahmen
WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.

Avoid repeated thawing and freezing.

IgM antibodies form a major proportion of the primary antibody response, whereas the secondary response consists almost entirely of IgG. IgMs are often referred to as macroglobulins because of their high molecular weight. They form a pentameric structure consisting of five subunits and a single J-chain. Each subunit contains the well-known pairs of heavy and light chains, with the particular feature of the heavy (μ) chain containing one variable and four constant regions. The molecular weight of intact IgM is approximately 900 kDa. In polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis under denaturing conditions, the heavy chain migrates as a band of approximately 85 kDa.Synonyms: Pig Immunoglobulin M
